Leader of the Onboarding Working Group

Max Planck PostdocNet Feb 2022 - Present

I have been actively involved with the Onboarding Working Group, which supports postdocs in the Max Planck Society (MPG) and their families in having a smooth start and pleasant journey in MPG and in Germany.

My role within the group has evolved over time: I started as a member (Feb 2022 - Feb 2023), then served as co-leader alongside Rana Amini (Feb 2023 - Feb 2024), and have been leading the group since Feb 2024.

As a member of this working group, I have contributed to discussions on Onboarding issues within the Max Planck Society and played a key role in developing the PostdocNet Welcome Package. This concise and transparent guide provides MPG postdocs with essential information on the German Social Security System, salary schemes, and the differences between contracts, stipends, and fellowships.

As leader of the working group, I have also had the opportunity to represent our team at PostdocNet events and collaborate with the Max Planck Central Administration to address Onboarding issues and refine our Welcome Package.

Postdoc Representative

Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology, Plön, Germany Nov 2024 - Nov 2025
Max Planck PostdocNet

Local represenatitve along with Dr. Jule Neumann and Dr. Guannan Wen, and external representatitve at the PostdocNet.

We represent the interests of postdoctoral researchers within the MPI for Evolutionary Biology. Our tasks include: facilitate communication between postdocs, and local administration to address concerns and provide feedback. Organize local Postdoc Retreat and social events to foster a sense of community among postdocs.

As an external representative at the PostdocNet, I represent the postdocs from the MPI for Evolutionary Biology, communicate with the PostDocNet Steering Group, and also distribute their announcements.
